Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

I have missed you!  Having a baby, moving across the country and having a few major health issues (within the family) have certainly taken a toll on my participation levels!

I am happy to say I *THINK* I should be able to pick up the camera and participate again :)

Also- this photography page is owned/managed/written- (whatever you want to call it) by the same girl (ME!) who writes "Little {mrs} Sunshine."  For professional reasons, I decided to keep my personal blog private, and do all of my photography challenging, blogging, etc. on this blog.  Anyways, long story short, I lost a lot of "followers" in the privacy switch!  So I'd love it if you were to follow my photog blog!  Pleeease??? :)

1.  Stacked
why, its a stack of sand dollars!  :D  If you look at it from afar, it could also double as a stack of pancakes, I suppose.

2.  Sweet

okay... (duh) for the sweet prompt, I just had to use a picture of my sweet StellaBella June Bug delight! :D  (being held by my sweet husband...her sweet dadda)

3. Frozen
this is kind of stretching it a bit... but I saw this buggar on the beach... he "froze" (for a good few minutes!) while I took his picture.  Actually he was frozen until my daughter started poking him with her shovel...nice.

4.  Hole
We just got a package from a dear friend up in Michigan... she sent us these beautiful wooden owls!!!  I LOVE them!  They're bejeweled and everything!  And they have holes so I can hang them.  I think they're mean for Christmas ornaments... but I'm going to hang them in the window... :D

5. Winter Wonderland
This is a total winter fail.  But I'm looking at sunshine and palm trees out my window right now.  Soooo... I took a picture of this blue glittery box (that was also sent down from Michigan-thanks Angie!-) and overlayed it with a bunch of bokeh... I think it looks wintry, right?  Ehh... that's the best I can do! :)

SHS (11/6/11)

1.  Purple
This is some kind of a berry bush in my grandmas backyard.  I was playing around with DOF, and got some giant blobs of purple... I thought it would be a good entry for SHS ;)

2.  Shape
This is also from my grandmas backyard... I was planning on using a picture of a toy for this prompt, but thought the stone pathway looked interesting.  Anyways... circles...shapes. :)

3.  Food
A suuuuper good (eaten) strawberry.

4.  In Disguise
My sister and Henry... (a "dork" and a train engineer)

5.  Photog's Choice
I just took this tonight- it cracks me up.  Stells is the sweetest baby on the planet but she looks fierce in this photo!!!

SHS 10/30/11

1.  Tree

This was a last ditched effort.  It was getting late last night, I needed a pic of a tree so I looked up and snapped this giant oak that was over our heads.  I thought I'd give it a Halloweeny effect... I don't know... anyways, this is what I came up with.

2. Home.
I made this canvas art all by myself!  ha :)  I got the idea off of Pinterest... on Saturday morning I was able to snag a few minutes (alone) and work on it.  It hangs on the wall next to the door as soon as you enter our apartment.  Again, I wayyyyy over-edited the original pic, but I kind of like how it turned out.

3. Texture Found.
Our back patio/deck has AWESOME texture!!  I love taking pics of things on it.  :)   The heart has nothing to do with the texture prompt... I was listening to Taylor Swift and fetl inspired ;)

4.  Covered
my rough and tumble guy "covering" his face from the camera ;)  Mammarazzi... right here!

5.  Macro/close up
ewww... stinky macro shot.  I apologize.  :(

SHS (the DISNEY edition!)

All of these prompts were found in and around Disney... talk about a FUN scavenger HUNT!!! :)

1.  Fire
The sky was on fire.  It was definitely comparable to a Maui sunset.  BEAUTIFUL.

2.  Faces in Strange Places

Uhhh this one's a bit artsy...  but its a display window with these freaky masks... and ALSO you can look in the slivers of mirror and see myself (taking the pic) and my sister Emily, holding Stella.
3.  Abstract
Nothing like some oversized tinker tots, right??? :)

4.  Stars
This is the ceiling of a store... not that cool, but I totally forgot about "stars" until I got home to edit... luckily I had this pic and there are itty bitty stars in it ;)

5.  Round

Earl of Sandwhich.  DELISH.

SHS

It has been FOREVERRRRR since I've participated in Scavenger Hunt Sunday!!!  I'm excited to actually have photos to share today! :)

1.  Seeing Double

EYEYEYEYEYE!!!!  Two Henrys!?!?  I'd lose my mind ;)

2.  Black &White
I'm not sure what these things are- some kind of plant sprouting off the palm trees around here.  I think they're so neat looking :)

3. Bare
I was going to take a pic of barefeet- my fave :)... but we passed this awesome vacant farm/home/barn thing... it looks pretty bare, huh?

4. Headlights
ummm... so I fell super short on this one...  just appreciate the pretty sky, ok? :)
5.  Reflections in Glass
mirrors/glass... same difference, right?

Man... I really struggled this week!  Hopefully next week I'll feel more creative!

SHS

Life has been nothing short of crazy-over the top- hectic!  I have missed out on SHS 3 weeks in a row now :(.

These photos were taken in Florida (... so not technically taken this past week, rather the week before).  But I figure since I haven't used them in a SHS and they're new, they'll work, right?? ;)  I hope...

1. Lines

Do you see the lines created by the sprinkler? ;)   I thought it was cool...

2. Fresh
My bug... getting blasted in the face with ice cold hose water- what could be fresher?

3.  On the Floor

A smashed ice cream sandwich... life with kids ;)

4.  Self Portrait

ehhh... I am not a fan of self portraits ;)  This was the best I could do ;)  29 weeks preggo!

5. Classic Still Life
This photo is definitely stretching it a bit!  Lanterns strung on the ceiling of an AWESOME taco shack...  They're non-living!  And relatively still!  Not so classic... but ahhh well :)

SHS

This week we spent a ton of time outside, with the kids- biking, parking (park-going?) eating ice cream, etc.  I had my camera at the parks and on a few of our walks, but I definitely had to dig back in my facebook albums, trying to find some photos that would fit!  Anyways- it's done and I'm hoping to be on top of things next week! ;)

1. Time
Photobucket
This was taken quite awhile ago... as in a year and a half ago!?  It was when we first started using time outs for Maeve.  I'm sure you won't find in any parenting book to take your child's picture when they're in time out- but she looked so cute pouting... I just had to.  TIME out. (yeah I know stretching it a bit).

2. Isolated
Photobucket
I took this at the beach in Florida (I think it was over Christmas break)... this is my fave. beach to go to because there is hardly anyone there.   I definitely feel very isolated while there.  Maybe the better phrase is- away from everything?  I don't know, either way I wish I were there now...

3. ZOOM In
Photobucket
I don't have a zoom lens- so I just zooooomed in while in photoshop ;)  I am in love with my daughters eyes.

4. Outside
Photobucket
Last week we had a few good days of nice weather.   I've heard this will not be the case this week :(... but we did spend just about all the time we could outside while the sun was out!

5. Poetry

Photobucket

Okay- don't judge me on this one- I don't care for poetry... eek!  That sounds bad.  But what I'm saying is, I wouldn't pick up a book about poetry or a book of poems and start reading it for the heck of it.  I am however, a HUGE fan of music... and I happen to think that music lyrics are like poems, right?  This lyric is from one of my favorite songs by Jack Johnson, "Only the Ocean."  Love it ;)
